The Hedemark is based on a 9th Century Norwegian original and has a forged blade of EN45 high carbon steel. The guard and pommel are of steel; the grip is wood with a wrap of spiralled leather. \n \nThe sword is paired with a scabbard of carved wood that has been overlaid in tight leather and finished with a protective steel chape and a wooden suspension loop.
