Mainz-Wederath Gladius – Deepeeka
The Roman Mainz-Wederath Gladius has a blade forged from hammered high carbon steel; the guard is ornately carved from wood, as is the spherical pommel. The grip is polished bone and the hilt is finished with a brass pommel nut. A brass guard plate is set into the guard to aid in preventing it from splitting from impact with opposing weapons. A removable felt tab at the base of the blade cushions the guard plate from scratching when in contact with the scabbard.

\nThe Gladius is paired with a wood-core scabbard tightly fitted with leather and bound within brass accenting and finished with brass hanging rings.
