This helmet is of a design similar to those favored by the Imperial Roman Cavalry and particularly the Cavalry Auxilia. These well-protecting, enclosing helmets were also beginning to be adopted by the Infantry Auxilia around AD 200. \n \nThis helmet is made from thick, heavy-gauge high carbon steel with brass ridges and spikes. The cheek plates are hinged and can be held in place over the chin with a hinge. The helmet is unlined and comes with a padded arming cap insert.
