This Scottish Claymore Greatsword has a large blade forged from high carbon steel; the handcrafted crossguard and pommel are crafted from steel and the grip is polished and stained hardwood.

\nWith its large, sweeping blade the brutal capabilities of the Scottish Claymore are tempered by its distinctive and attractive hilt style with quatrefoil quillons. More than a handsome accoutrement, the long, forward-sloping crossguard gives very good protection the hand whilst acting as a pivot point in a bind. Greatswords such as this remained a popular weapon of the Highlanders well into the 16th century.
