This Viking Sword is intended for steel-on-steel sport and stage combat with its thick and blunted blade edges which impart increased durability, wear resistance and general safety over a standard sword. The tempered blade is forged from high carbon steel and a long and wide fuller groove removes a considerable amount of excess weight to ensure that the sword is still maneuverable and easily wielded despite the thickened blade edges. For a durable overall construction the sword is solidly mounted into the hilt with a peen over the pommel. \n \nThe guard and pommel are crafted from steel with a heat-blued finish. Its grip is wood with a tightly-bound wrapping of leather. The matching wood-core scabbard is overlaid in matching leather and is completed with blued steel fittings and hanging rings.
