Titus Vespasianus Gladius
The Roman Titus Vespasianus Gladius has a blade that was forged from high carbon steel; the blade has a diamond cross-section in profile and an elongated and tapered tip profile. The guard and pommel are crafted from carved and polished wood and the grip is sculpted and polished bone. The pommel is capped with a brass pommel nut. A brass plate is inset into the guard to help prevent the splitting or cracking of the guard when forceful contact is made with the weapon of a foe. A removable felt tab fitted atop the brass plate prevents scratching to dents between the contact of the guard plate and the scabbard.

\nThe wood-core scabbard is tightly bound in stitched and brown dyed leather and further embellished with riveted brass ornamentation and hanging rings. Steel and brass iconographic plates are fitted to the scabbard on a single side.
