Fulham Gladius Sword with Simple Scabbard

A refined reproduction of the famed Fulham Gladius, inspired by the Romano-British find housed in the British Museum. Designed for authenticity and usability, this piece reflects the transitional Mainz-Fulham blade form used by Roman legionaries in the 1st century AD.

The Fulham Gladius represents a rare transitional form within Roman sword development, combining elements of the earlier Mainz type with the emerging straight-edged profiles that would later define the Pompeii gladius. Discovered near the River Thames and now preserved in the British Museum, the original find provides valuable insight into Roman military presence in early Britain.

Unlike the more pronounced waisted blades of earlier Mainz gladii, the Fulham type features a more restrained profile with relatively straighter edges while retaining a long, acute point-making it highly effective for thrusting in close combat formations.
